4,500 South-East Women Receive Business Equipment and Cash Support
The Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals and the Renewed Hope Initiative have provided business equipment to 4,500 vulnerable women across the South-East. Under the core programme, 500 women in each of Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo states received items including deep freezers, gas cookers, generators and industrial grinding machines. The Imo State Government supported an additional 2,000 women. In Imo, 2,500 beneficiaries also received ₦100,000 each, totalling ₦250 million. The intervention targets widows, wives of fallen heroes and other indigent women, with the aim of helping them start or expand small businesses.
