Rescued Anambra Boy Reunites Tearfully with Mother after Abusive Guardian

In Odume layout, Isiowulu, Anambra, residents rescued a 10-year-old boy from an abusive guardian and reunited him with his mother. On June 15, the state police command arrested a couple and another person for allegedly inflicting severe injuries on the child. A video shared online shows the mother breaking down in tears as she holds her son, whose burns authorities say were caused by burning plastic. Neighbours say they raised the alarm after noticing the boy’s deplorable condition. Investigators report that the guardian confessed to using burning plastic on the child. The case is currently under police investigation.
