OPay and Ease Cash Fail to Track N52,280 Loan Repayment for Lagos Borrower

OPay and Ease Cash Fail to Track N52,280 Loan Repayment for Lagos Borrower

A Lagos resident paid N52,280 via his OPay virtual debit card on June 29 to settle the first instalment of an Ease Cash loan. Although the amount was deducted from his account, it never appeared on his loan dashboard. He contacted OPay and Ease Cash separately. OPay said the transaction succeeded but advised him to reach out to the merchant. Ease Cash claimed no record of the payment and refused to issue official correspondence confirming the missing funds. He had to repay N53,240 the next day, losing an early repayment discount. FIJ reached out to both companies. Ease Cash requested his phone number again, while OPay told FIJ to ask the original transaction initiator for more details. Days later, the N52,280 remains unrefunded and the borrower still awaits resolution.

How did this N52,280 deduction disappear from the loan dashboard despite being debited on June 29?

I agree, this N52,280 deduction vanishing from the dashboard is really concerning.

It's odd that both OPay and Ease Cash can't reconcile a straightforward N52,280 payment after an apparent successful debit.

Maybe the issue isn't system failure but user oversight—double-check bank statements before blaming the platforms outright.

Keep your transaction receipt, contact their support again, and if dem still silent, escalate to the financial regulator.
