Regretting My UNIBEN Journey: How Betting and Debt Destroyed My Future
I enrolled at UNIBEN after attending a top boarding school. I hoped to turn my time and resources into a solid career. Instead, I feel all my efforts were wasted. I graduated with a 2.1 but got drawn into Bet9ja by mischievous classmates. Betting and womanising became my escape. Online loan apps fed my addiction and buried me in debt. I chased a six-figure white-collar job in Sapele, Benin, Ughelli, and Asaba. Every interview ended in disappointment. Now my CV is damaged and my reputation destroyed. I’ve spent over ₦2 million on feeding, books, fees, and accommodation. Today I hide from creditors, haunted by lost opportunities. I feel no different from a primary school dropout.
