Iheanacho Scores Twice to Equal Bursaspor’s Eight-Game Scoring Record
Kelechi Iheanacho scored twice as Bursaspor beat Batman Petrolspor 2-1 away on September 19 to stay top of Turkey’s second division. The Super Eagles forward now has 11 goals and two assists in eight league appearances. He has scored in each of those matches, matching the club record for goals in eight consecutive league games. The record was previously held by Brazilian striker Fernandao, who achieved the feat during the 2014/15 season. Iheanacho can set a new Bursaspor record if he scores in his next league match. His strong form has also earned him a return to the Nigeria squad ahead of next month’s friendly against Russia.
