Amotekun Rescues Three Nurses and Father-Son Duo in Akure
Operatives of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, also known as Amotekun, have rescued three nurses abducted from a government-owned Primary Health Centre in the Oke Ijebu area of Akure. The health workers were freed at about 4:30 a.m. on Saturday and are now receiving treatment at the Amotekun health facility. In a separate operation, Amotekun also recovered a 45-year-old man and his 15-year-old son who were kidnapped from Pelebe community along Oda Road. The father and son were taken between 7:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Friday and were rescued at about 1:00 a.m. after a heavy confrontation with the kidnappers. Bandits had stormed the health centre around 2:00 a.m., arriving in a bus and forcefully abducting the nurses on duty. Other staff members managed to escape unharmed as the assailants fled with their victims. Amotekun Corps Commander Akogun Adetunji Adeleye assured residents that the safety of lives and property remains a top priority. He urged the public to keep providing timely information to security agencies for a collective effort to improve safety across the state.
