Ogun PDP Alleges Attacks, Arrests and Campaign Disruption Ahead of 2027 Polls
The Ogun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has accused the APC-led state government of using state institutions to intimidate opposition members ahead of the 2027 general elections. At a press briefing in Abeokuta, PDP chairman Abayomi Tella alleged that the party’s Ogun East campaign activities faced venue cancellations, blocked movement and attacks in Idowa and Ososa. He said several vehicles were damaged and some members were injured. Tella also alleged that party members who reported the incidents were arrested and detained by the police. He accused the state signage agency of denying the PDP access to billboard spaces and called for the release of detained members and an impartial investigation into the allegations.
