NIS Arrests 12 Suspects Over Alleged QNET-Linked Trafficking Ring in Lagos, Rescues Two Liberians
The Nigeria Immigration Service says it has dismantled an alleged human-trafficking syndicate linked to the QNET/IGNITE network during coordinated operations in Lagos. Twelve foreign nationals were arrested, including the alleged leader, Ouattra Adama, a Burkinabé national. The other suspects include eight Liberians and three Cameroonians. Two Liberian nationals believed to be victims of the syndicate were rescued. The suspects and victims have been transferred to the NIS headquarters in Abuja for investigation and possible prosecution. The NIS urged Nigerians to verify employment, education, business and migration offers through official channels before paying money or travelling.
