Nigeria’s Men’s 4x100m Relay Team Downgraded to Bronze After Canada’s Appeal
Nigeria’s men’s 4x100m relay team has been downgraded from silver to bronze at the 2026 Commonwealth Games after Canada successfully appealed its earlier disqualification. Favour Ashe, Kayinsola Ajayi, Nicholas Fakorede and Udodi Onwuzurike finished third in the final. They were initially moved up to silver when Canada, which ran 38.11 seconds for second place behind Australia, was disqualified over an alleged lane infringement. Canada’s appeal was later upheld, restoring its silver medal and moving Nigeria back to bronze. Team Nigeria now has 23 medals at the Games: 10 gold, six silver and seven bronze.
