Agbor Vigilantes Parades Father of Three over Alleged POS Fraud
The Agbor Gha-Ihun Vigilante Group paraded Mr. Chukwudi Utomi, a father of three and former tipper driver, for allegedly stealing from Point-of-Sale operators in Agbor. He was arrested in the Ime-Obi area and confessed that losing his job drove him to the crime. One operator said Utomi studied her transaction process through repeated visits. She discovered N50,000 missing from her account in a transfer to “Mercy Utomi” and later traced total losses of N250,000. Another POS operator reported unexplained withdrawals amounting to N450,000 linked to the same recipient name. Victims said financial institutions demanded court orders before any inquiry and appealed to security agencies for help recovering their money. They expressed hope that Utomi’s arrest will end their ordeal. Chief Sunday Ibude, head of the vigilante group, warned criminals that there are no hiding places in Agbor. He pledged continued vigilance and swift action against offenders.
