Former Real Madrid and Germany midfielder Toni Kroos has tipped Paris Saint-Germain winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to win the 2026 Ballon d’Or. Kroos said Kvaratskhelia deserves the award despite not being viewed as the leading favourite. He placed the Georgian ahead of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé, Jude Bellingham and Rodri. “The Ballon d’Or should go to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. He probably won’t win, but he’s the number one without hesitation,” Kroos said. He added that some players who stood out at the World Cup had only average club seasons.
