Collins Edwin winger Olaitan Lamidi believes his side can win the 1XCup 2026 after they secured a 2-0 preliminary-stage victory over FC Bethel Sporting in Lagos. Lamidi opened the scoring in the eighth minute, beating a defender on the left wing before firing into the net. Captain Adebayo Ibrahim converted a penalty in the 27th minute to seal the win and secure Collins Edwin’s place in the group stage. Lamidi, who won the man-of-the-match award, said the team is focused on taking the competition one game at a time despite its ambition to go all the way.
