Can Long-Distance Relationships Survive in Nigeria?
Long-distance relationships can be difficult, especially when NYSC, work, school or relocation separates couples. Trust, communication, finances and the ability to visit regularly can all affect whether the relationship survives. Couples who were together before distance came may have a stronger foundation. Those who reconnect online, or start dating without ever meeting physically, may face extra uncertainty about compatibility, honesty and expectations. Distance does not automatically lead to cheating, just as living nearby does not guarantee faithfulness. The bigger questions are whether both people are committed, communicate openly and have a realistic plan to eventually live in the same place. Which type of long-distance relationship has the best chance of lasting? Can you fully trust a partner you see only a few times a year, and would you date someone you have never met in person?
