Tate Brothers Arrested by US Marshals in Miami Ahead of UK Extradition on New Rape and Trafficking Charges

On July 18, federal agents from the U.S. Marshals Service arrested brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate in Miami under a sealed warrant. British authorities said the move is linked to fresh allegations overseas. The U.K. Crown Prosecution Service has filed new charges against Andrew, 39, including seven counts of rape, three counts of trafficking for sexual exploitation and multiple offenses related to illegal child pornography. Tristan, 38, faces additional counts of rape, sexual assault and facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation. The Tate brothers are now awaiting extradition to the U.K. Their attorney described the arrests as an “abuse of authority” and predicted they would be cleared. The pair, both former kickboxers and dual U.S.-British citizens, relocated to Romania in 2016 and returned to the United States last year amid another criminal inquiry.
