Resident Doctors Hail Anambra’s Allowances and Industrial Harmony
The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors has commended the Anambra State Government for maintaining industrial harmony with resident doctors and implementing salary and professional allowance improvements. NARD President Dr Mohammad Usman Suleiman said the state was the first to implement the corrected consolidated salary structure and professional allowances agreed with the Federal Government. He added that Anambra extends specialist allowances to doctors undergoing residency training. The association also said Anambra paid a Medical Residency Training Fund higher than the federal allocation last year. The state Health Commissioner urged doctors to prioritise compassion, patience and clear communication while treating patients. He said accredited health facilities will display posters to reassure patients, while complaints about service delivery can be taken to the ministry’s Health Facility Accreditation and Monitoring Unit.
