CREDICORP Launches SPARK Credit Scheme for First-Time Borrowers in Aba

The Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation has launched SPARK, a USSD-based entry-level credit product aimed at helping first-time borrowers access small loans and build a formal credit history. The product allows users who repay loans responsibly to qualify for higher amounts over time. CREDICORP said the scheme is designed to expand access to credit for traders, artisans, young people and other Nigerians without established borrowing records. The launch took place in Aba during CREDICORP’s programme in Abia State. The event also featured the handover of 25 sample tricycles from a planned distribution of 1,000 tricycles acquired through third-party agents.
