Zenith Bank Reports ₦430.8bn H1 2026 Profit as Earnings Decline
Zenith Bank reported ₦637.6 billion profit before tax for the first half of 2026, up 1.9% year-on-year. However, profit after tax fell to ₦430.8 billion from ₦532.2 billion, while gross earnings declined 24.6% to ₦1.90 trillion. The bank ended June with ₦32.65 trillion in total assets, ₦26.35 trillion in customer deposits and ₦12.05 trillion in net loans and advances. It proposed an interim dividend of ₦1.50 per share, up from ₦1.25 in the previous year. Key issues for shareholders to monitor include a ₦92.2 billion trading loss, a higher credit-impaired loan allowance of about ₦427.9 billion, a 32.4% effective tax rate and a ₦109.2 billion comprehensive loss. The ₦160 share-price scenario for early 2027 is only an estimate and not a guaranteed target.
