Senator Hanga Denies Planned Defection to APC, Questions NDC’s National Chances
Senator Rufai Sani Hanga has denied reports that he plans to leave the NDC for the APC, saying he remains a member of the party despite recent meetings with leading APC figures. Speaking on a Kano radio programme, Hanga said the NDC lacks the national strength to defeat the APC in the presidential election. However, he said he believes the party can still win in Kano. He also addressed his relationship with Rabiu Kwankwaso and the party’s governorship ticket. Hanga said he was initially approached about serving as deputy governorship candidate, but later learned that Mustapha Kwankwaso had been selected as the running mate to Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo.
