You may be surprised how quickly “we are not married” enters the conversation. Relationship no be prison, and everybody deserves personal freedom. But freedom should not become an excuse for secrecy, hidden chats, unexplained movements or behaviour that makes a partner feel shut out. The same thing applies to men and women. Trust is important, but trust does not mean becoming blind to repeated warning signs. Sometimes, love makes us ignore what we would immediately notice if it was happening to a friend. If you overlook every sign because you desperately want the relationship to work, you may later realise you were not trusting your partner. You were trusting your own denial.
