Global Medical Volunteers Begin 10th Cardiac Care Mission in Oraifite
Medical volunteers from Nigeria and other countries have arrived in Oraifite, Anambra State, for the 10th open-heart medical mission organised by the Sir Emeka Okwuosa Foundation in partnership with the Vincent Obioma Ohaju Memorial Foundation. The team is providing specialised cardiac care and life-saving interventions at the Dame Irene Okwuosa Memorial Hospital. Some volunteers travelled for more than 30 hours to join the mission. Over the past four years, the foundation says it has carried out 224 open-heart surgeries, 55 paediatric catheterisations, 101 adult catheterisations and five vascular surgery procedures. People who need intensive cardiac care can contact the hospital directly for support.
