Nigeria’s women’s beach volleyball team has qualified for the Olympic Games for the first time. The team secured its place at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics after defeating Morocco 2-0 in the final of the 2026 African Women’s Beach Volleyball Championship in Alexandria, Egypt, on 22 August. Nigeria won the sets 21-17 and 21-10. The victory ends a 16-year wait after three previous losses in African Olympic qualifying finals.
