Nigerian Navy Drone Operation Nets Suspected Terrorist Collaborator in Lake Chad
The Nigerian Navy has arrested Baba Saidu Abdullahi, a suspected collaborator, during a drone-led surveillance mission in the Lake Chad area. Personnel from Naval Base Lake Chad used tactical drones on June 1 to track him moving from a known militant hideout and interacting with armed terrorist elements before his capture near Charlie Company, 196 Amphibious Battalion. Investigations suggest the suspect frequently shuttled between Dumba and Baga Town, supplying essentials to terrorists. Security forces recovered personal effects and other items linked to ongoing inquiries. He has been handed over to military authorities for further questioning under established procedures. This success underscores the growing role of intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance in Operation HADIN KAI. The Nigerian Navy remains committed to deploying technology-driven assets to deny terrorists freedom of action and restore security in the North East.
