Two Delta State NULGE Chairmen Killed in Tragic Road Accident
The NULGE Chairmen of Ika South and Ika North East Local Government Councils in Delta State lost their lives in a fatal crash on Tuesday, 21 July 2026. Comrade Nwama Emmanuel Jolly and Comrade Nnamdi Memeh were returning from a union meeting in Orerokpe when their Toyota Sienna collided with a motorcyclist on the Idumuesah/Owa-Oyibu Road. The driver reportedly lost control while trying to avoid the biker, causing the vehicle to somersault. Injured occupants were rushed to the Government General Hospital, Owa-Oyibu. Comrade Jolly was confirmed dead on arrival. Comrade Memeh was later transferred to FMC Asaba but succumbed to his injuries despite life-support efforts. Their deaths have deeply affected workers, political leaders, colleagues, and residents across Ika.
