Ogun Farmers Seek Relief After Alleged Land Grabbers Destroy Ajogbo Akia Farmlands
Farmers and residents of Ajogbo Akia in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area, Ogun State, have petitioned Governor Dapo Abiodun over the alleged destruction of their farmlands by land grabbers and impostors. The community said cassava, yam, maize, okra, mature palm trees and other long-standing plantations were destroyed. Its leaders said the losses have deprived many farming households of income, food and their main source of livelihood. The matter has been reported to the police and is also before the court. The community is asking the state government to investigate, provide security, hold those responsible accountable, and support affected farmers with relief materials, seedlings and other agricultural inputs.
