Ekiti Police Dismiss Sergeant After Viral Drug-Fueled Incident
The Ekiti State Police Command has dismissed Sergeant Osayingbemi Temitope after a video circulated showing him acting erratically. Authorities suspect he was under the influence of illicit substances during the May 9 incident in Ikole-Ekiti. Medical tests confirmed he tested positive for tobacco and amphetamine. The officer reportedly confessed to using these substances. Following medical, psychological and internal disciplinary reviews, the command recommended his immediate dismissal, which has now taken effect. Reaffirming its commitment to discipline, the command stated it will not tolerate conduct that tarnishes the Force’s image. Commissioner of Police Michael Falade reminded all officers to uphold integrity, accountability and professionalism in protecting lives and property.
