Score Your Business Idea Out of 30 Before Spending Your Money
How many of us have started a business, spent money, and later discovered that nobody wanted to buy? Before you invest, score your idea from 1 to 5 in these six areas: frequency, pain, willingness to pay, weak existing solutions, urgency and how cheaply you can reach customers. Add the scores to get a total out of 30. A score of 24–30 means the idea is strong enough to test this week. A score of 18–23 shows promise but needs refinement. Anything below 18 may mean you should find a more pressing problem to solve. For example, generator repair in an estate could score 26 out of 30 because the problem is frequent, urgent and people already pay to fix it. The money is often in solving a real problem, not simply creating a product. Share your business idea and score, and tell us the biggest business mistake you have made.
