First Niger Bridge Demarcation Remains as Solar Light Installation Begins
Work is continuing on the First Niger Bridge, with crews installing solar street lights and adjusting sections of the newly constructed median barrier. A visit to the bridge showed that workers opened a second U-turn point in the demarcation. Claims that the entire barrier had been removed are inaccurate, as most of the demarcation remains in place. The First Niger Bridge is currently undergoing rehabilitation, while the Second Niger Bridge continues to carry traffic. Some road users have also called for restrictions on heavy trucks and the installation of height barriers to protect the bridge.
