IFAD-VCDP Strengthens Women’s Networks and Leadership in Ebonyi

The IFAD-assisted Value Chain Development Programme has held a women’s networking forum in Ebonyi State to strengthen connections, leadership and advocacy among participants. The programme’s gender and youth mainstreaming officer, Fransisca Anya, said the networks are part of IFAD-VCDP’s exit strategy. She said they will help women continue to collaborate, demand accountability and speak up for their rights after the programme ends. Women’s groups have been registered across the eight participating LGAs, including Izzi, Ohaozara, Ivo and Ishielu. Several of the groups have also elected executives to provide leadership. Participants were urged to use the networks to support their businesses, communities and personal development.
