Nollywood actor Kunle Remi has asked Nigerians to mark President Bola Tinubu’s birthday with images and videos from the recent Plateau State attack. He says the sombre visuals better reflect the nation’s ongoing security crisis. In a social media video, the 37-year-old condemned the killing of residents in the Gari Ya Waye community. He pointed to footage of a grieving mother clutching her slain child as a fitting birthday tribute for the president. Remi criticised what he described as an insensitive public response to worsening violence. He urged citizens to replace celebratory birthday posts with images from the tragedy, saying this would send a stronger message about national pain. He has previously criticised President Tinubu’s handling of fuel price hikes, economic hardship and power shortages. The actor questioned why Nigeria remains vulnerable to global supply shocks despite its oil resources.
