Worshippers Praise Repaired Access Roads to Osun-Osogbo Sacred Grove

Worshippers and visitors at the Osun-Osogbo Festival have praised the rehabilitation of roads leading to the Osun-Osogbo Sacred Grove in Osogbo. Devotees said the poor state of the access roads had previously made it difficult for tourists and worshippers to reach the UNESCO World Heritage Site. They said the repairs have improved movement into the grove, which receives thousands of visitors during the annual festival. Residents and traditional worshippers have urged the Osun State Government and other stakeholders to maintain the repaired roads, renovate damaged facilities within the grove, and increase support for the festival. The grand finale includes the Arugba carrying the sacred calabash to the river for the traditional rite.
