Edo Group Warns Asari Dokubo Against Remarks on Benin Throne

The Aiguobasinmwin Movement Worldwide has warned Asari Dokubo to stop making remarks it considers derogatory towards Edo State, its people and the Benin monarchy. Speaking at a press conference in Benin City, the group’s president said Edo people’s calm response to previous comments should not be mistaken for weakness. He rejected alleged claims concerning land ownership in the state and condemned remarks said to target the Oba of Benin. The movement also addressed the controversy involving Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited, stating that it was not speaking for the company but that its host-community projects could be verified. It said it remains committed to peace but will continue to respond to what it considers provocations against Edo interests.
