The Gate of Forgiveness: Choosing Peace Over Bitterness
Forgiveness means releasing resentment and the desire for revenge after an offence. It does not mean the wrongdoing was acceptable, and it does not require immediate trust. It means refusing to let past hurt control your heart and future. Scripture teaches believers to forgive as God has forgiven them through Christ. Unforgiveness can feed bitterness, disturb peace, damage relationships and affect one’s prayer life. Choosing forgiveness allows God’s healing to begin. Pray for those who have hurt you, release revenge to God and set wise boundaries where necessary. Forgiveness and trust are not always the same, and no one should remain in a dangerous or abusive situation. Today, ask God for the grace to forgive. Choose healing over hatred, peace over revenge and mercy over bitterness.
