Opta Stat Highlights David Raya's Struggles With Long-Range Shots

Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya has conceded 33 of his 160 Premier League goals from outside the penalty area. That represents 20.6 percent of his total, the second-highest proportion among goalkeepers who have conceded at least 100 goals in the competition. The statistic drew attention after Arsenal's 3-0 defeat to Brighton. Pascal Groß scored from outside the box in the first half, before Charalampos Kostoulas added another long-range effort before the break. Chema Andrés completed the scoring in the second half. Only former Nottingham Forest, Wimbledon and Tottenham goalkeeper Hans Segers has a higher proportion of Premier League goals conceded from range. Raya has nevertheless won the Golden Glove in each of the last three league seasons, including 19 clean sheets in 2025/26.
