Henry Winkler is an American actor, director, producer and author best known for playing Arthur “Fonzie” Fonzarelli in the sitcom Happy Days. Born in New York City in 1945, he later studied at Emerson College and the Yale School of Drama before his breakthrough role turned Fonzie into a television icon. Beyond Happy Days, Winkler worked on the original MacGyver series and appeared in films such as Scream, The Waterboy, Click, The French Dispatch and Black Adam. He earned renewed acclaim on television through roles in Arrested Development, Parks and Recreation, Royal Pains and Barry, for which he won a Primetime Emmy Award. Winkler has also written books and spoken openly about dyslexia, using his experiences to support children with learning difficulties.
