NAFDAC Seals Alleged Fake Herbal Products Factory in Agege
NAFDAC has sealed an alleged illegal herbal-products factory operating from a residential building in Agege, Lagos. Officials said the facility produced herbal mixtures in unhygienic conditions and without regulatory approval. The agency said it recovered three unregistered products, including mixtures marketed for sexually transmitted infections, blood purification and high blood pressure. One product allegedly carried a registration number that belongs to an approved cough syrup. NAFDAC said it is investigating the operation and searching for the alleged owner. Consumers were advised to verify both product names and registration details before using herbal medicines, as counterfeiters may copy valid registration numbers.
