The Edo State Projects Implementation and Monitoring Department has inspected ongoing road, bridge and drainage projects across Benin City and other parts of the state. The department said contractors remained on site despite heavy rainfall, citing continued funding for the projects. At the Adesuwa Flyover, officials said work was focused on pile caps, retaining walls and piers during the rainy season. Project engineers placed completion at between 50 and 60 per cent and said the work remained within its delivery timeline. The inspection also covered the Benin-Sapele Road, Benin-Sapele Water Storm Project, Evbukhu and Old Road projects, Ramat Park Flyover, Uhie Road and Oghgeghe Road. Contractors were urged to maintain quality standards and provide temporary palliative works where necessary for road users.
