Nigeria Secures Host Role for IATF2027: Africa’s Biggest Trade Fair Arrives in Lagos
Nigeria has officially signed the host agreement for the fifth Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF2027). The event will run from November 5 to 11, 2027, in Lagos. It follows the record-breaking 2025 edition in Algeria. In partnership with Afreximbank, the African Union Commission, and the AfCFTA Secretariat, Nigeria aims to surpass US$50 billion in trade deals. The Fair expects 100,000 visitors, 2,500 exhibitors, and delegates from over 100 countries. Under the theme “Global Africa, Smart Trade – From Market Access to Market Power,” highlights include trade exhibitions, the AfCFTA forum, Global Africa Day, a B2B/B2G platform, Creative Africa Nexus, a youth start-up pavilion, and the Africa Research & Innovation Hub. Former President Obasanjo and Minister Jumoke Oduwole emphasize the event’s role in boosting Africa’s economic integration. With its large market, industrial capacity, and vibrant SME sector, Nigeria is poised to drive intra-African trade and value-chain development.
