Beyond Likes and Shares: Rekindling Authentic Worship in the Church
We once asked, “Is God pleased?” Now we ask, “Did people enjoy it?” That craving for approval is reshaping our sermons, worship, and leadership. Social media encourages short clips, polished visuals, and concert-style worship. None of those is wrong, but when applause becomes the goal, hard truths get softened, key topics are avoided, and spiritual depth is lost. True transformation isn’t measured in views. The early Church sought boldness over brand growth. Before chasing numbers, we must ask: “Is this what God is saying?” Preachers, speak truth rather than comfort. Young believers, don’t confuse popularity with anointing. If the applause stopped today, would we still point to the cross?
