Choose Your Battles Wisely: A Guide to Lasting Peace
Start by asking: Is this conflict truly yours? Proverbs warns against letting a quarrel grow and meddling in fights that aren’t your own (17:14; 26:17). Some disputes are distractions or traps—preserve your energy. True victory is inner peace. The one who is slow to anger and rules his spirit is stronger than the conqueror of a city (16:32). Walking away from provocation requires more strength than winning a brawl. There is wisdom in both standing firm and fleeing danger. Running can be wise, not weak (Matt 10:23; Prov 22:3). Fight only for what is eternal—your faith, family, and integrity (1 Tim 6:12; Eph 6:12). In all things, choose life and peace. Turn away from snares of death, live peaceably with all, and save your strength for the battles that truly matter (Deut 30:19; Rom 12:18; Prov 19:11).
