Rivers Police Bust Kidnapping Ring, Rescue Abducted Woman
Operatives of the Rivers State Police Command have arrested four men suspected of a notorious kidnapping syndicate. The team rescued the victim and recovered the gang’s operational vehicle. The incident began when a businessman reported that his 35-year-old wife was abducted by armed men on Saturday while serving customers in her shop. Witnesses said the kidnappers escaped in a white tinted mini-bus. Acting on this intelligence, the Violent Crime Response Unit launched an intensive investigation under the directives of the Commissioner of Police. Arrested suspects include Owhor Chinedu (42), Isioto Waribok (30), Maduabuchi Emeka (34), and Joe Karachi (28) from various local government areas in Rivers State. The four have reportedly confessed to their roles in the crime. Police say efforts are ongoing to apprehend two other syndicate members still at large and to recover the firearms used during the abduction.
