FG Declares Tuesday, August 25 Public Holiday for Eid-ul-Mawlid
The Federal Government has declared Tuesday, August 25, 2026, a public holiday to mark Eid-ul-Mawlid, the celebration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad. The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, urged Nigerians to reflect on the Prophet’s teachings of compassion, humility and service to humanity. He said these values are important for strengthening peace and unity across the country. He also called on citizens to celebrate with restraint, mutual respect and consideration for others, while praying for Nigeria’s peace, stability and security.
