FG Sets Up NIMBEX Committee to Drive Maritime Investment and Jobs

The Federal Government has inaugurated a committee to organise the Nigeria Marine and Blue Economy Expo, known as NIMBEX. The expo is intended to attract investment, create jobs and expand opportunities in Nigeria’s maritime sector. The Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy says the event will bring together policymakers, investors, industry leaders and technology innovators. Discussions will cover port development, shipping, inland waterways, logistics, fisheries, maritime finance, offshore energy and maritime security. Nigeria’s 853-kilometre coastline and more than 10,000 kilometres of navigable inland waterways offer major potential for trade and logistics. The government hopes NIMBEX will help mobilise capital, technology and partnerships to develop these resources sustainably.
