Fourth Wife Stabs Husband After Discovering Affairs with Her Cousin and Married Friend
Judith Maruta, 33, from Domboshava, allegedly stabbed her husband, businessman Kefas Mushore, 50, after learning he was involved with her cousin and a married friend. She was detained for two weeks, and the incident has since turned into a legal dispute over maintenance and compensation. Mushore claims the injury affected his mobility. He obtained a protection order and is seeking US$50,000 in damages. Maruta was fined and ordered to pay restitution, but she argues the decision was unfair. Tabeth Banda, the cousin, confirms she accepted financial help from Mushore and dated him in secret. She says she feared telling her sister could worsen the situation. The case is set to return before a Domboshava magistrate this month. Maruta regrets entering a polygamous marriage. She says she lost property, including two houses and a car, and is now seeking increased maintenance for their two children.
