No Deaths Reported as Two-Storey Building Collapses in Anambra
A two-storey residential building collapsed in Anambra on Sunday, with no deaths reported. State officials visited the site to assess the damage and investigate the cause. The Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development said the structure was poorly constructed, lacked ministry approval and was built against the perimeter wall of a nearby three-storey building. Occupants of the adjoining building will be evacuated pending an integrity test. The state government also plans to inspect nearby structures and demolish buildings that violate setback rules, lack approval or are built on perimeter fences.
