Ogun, Federal Agencies Strengthen Security at Gateway Airport for Hajj Pilgrims
Security agencies and the Ogun State Government met at Gateway International Airport, Iperu-Remo, to finalise plans for smooth Hajj operations. The meeting included reps from the Nigeria Police, Immigration, Customs, NDLEA, DSS and NCAA. Commissioner for Transportation Gbenga Dairo confirmed the airport’s infrastructure and management capacity meet NCAA standards. He said a temporary camp will process some 500 pilgrims before departure to the Holy Land. Consultant Dapo Olumide highlighted the airport’s modern facilities and full commercial licence. All agencies praised the site and will advise on any extra measures needed. The Ogun State Muslim Welfare Board will coordinate the airlift of pilgrims.
