A major fire broke out today at the Integrated Oil & Gas tank farm in Coconut, Olodi-Apapa, Lagos after an explosion in one of its storage tanks. Thick black smoke and high flames were seen rising above the facility. Emergency response teams have not yet arrived to contain the blaze and stop it from spreading. The cause of the explosion is still under investigation. Motorists and residents are urged to avoid the Coconut–Wharf route until authorities bring the situation under control.
