Family Seeks Justice After Young Man Stabbed Over N200 in Igando, Lagos
Susan Ayanbojo is demanding justice after her 27-year-old brother was fatally stabbed over a N200 snooker debt in the Igando area of Lagos State last Saturday. In a viral social media video, she explained that her brother had finished watching an Arsenal match and went out to play snooker when the board operator, 18-year-old David Gideon, insisted on payment from a previous game. Eyewitnesses say Gideon attacked first with a bottle, and her brother grabbed one in self-defense. He sought refuge in a nearby compound, but stepped out when he thought the tension had eased—only to be followed and stabbed in the back. The victim died en route to the hospital, and Gideon remains at large. Ayanbojo has accused the local police of negligence and a slow response. She also revealed that someone on social media who claimed to know the suspect deleted their comment and deactivated their account after alleged threats. With reports of the suspect’s violent history, she is pleading with authorities to ensure he is arrested and prosecuted.
