Former Catholic Priest Marries Kenyan Woman in Traditional Tugen Wedding
Sandro Ferretto, an Italian former Catholic priest who served communities in Kenya’s Baringo County for more than a decade, has married Sharon Jepng’ok in a traditional Tugen Koito ceremony. The couple formalised their union on 6 September 2026 at Seretion Village in Kasiela, Baringo South. Relatives, elders, local leaders and residents attended the celebration, where Ferretto joined his bride in dancing to local music. Ferretto previously served as a priest in Kasiela and Mochongoi after arriving in Kenya around 2008. He later stepped away from active ministry and returned to Kenya to begin a new life centred on marriage and family.
