FCT Police Chief Warns Officers: ‘You Can’t Be a Cop and a Thief’

The Federal Capital Territory Police Commissioner, Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, has issued a stern warning to all officers under his command. He stressed that any act of extorting keke riders, motorists, or other road users in Abuja is unacceptable. “You cannot be both a police officer and a thief,” he declared, adding that reports of unlawful demands will lead to immediate disciplinary measures. Officers found guilty of extortion risk suspension or dismissal. A video of the commissioner’s address has been widely shared on social media, highlighting his commitment to upholding professional integrity and restoring public trust in the force.
