IED Blast in Anka, Zamfara Kills Three Police Officers
An improvised explosive device detonated during a controlled clearance operation on the Anka–Bagega road in Anka LGA of Zamfara State. The Officer-in-Charge of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit, SP Abdulrazak Musa Hassan, led a team of EOD and Violent Crime Response Unit personnel when their armoured vehicle triggered the bomb on June 15, 2026, at about 5:05 p.m. SP Hassan, Inspector Murtala Musa, and Inspector Auwal Ahmad all died on impact. Their bodies were taken to the Federal Medical Centre in Gusau for post-mortem examination. Security has been reinforced in the area as investigations continue.
